2012 Ducati Diavel Cromo Launched
If you are a motor cycle enthusiast, then you would want to read about this “hard to be seen” Ducati model. Meet the 2012 Ducati Diavel Cromo. A hot-rod innovation from last year’s Ducati Diavel model, which is said to be a cruiser motorcycle with a 240mm rear fire. Ducati Diavel Cromo is improved to follow the current trend for chrome on the motorbikes in the United States.
The new 2012 Diavel Cromo is powered by the potent Testastretta 11 engine, uses a Ride-by-Wire throttle system, Ducati Riding Modes and the standard ABS, plus Ducati Traction Control. However, the slight improvement in its appearance and style will surely tempt more than its share of motor enthusiasts, who would not be able to help but buy this two-wheeled alpha hotrod. After all, who could resist its visual finesse, powerful engine, visceral appeal and loud statement of a “difficult to be spotted” motor bike – unless the rider wants to be seen!
In addition to these outstanding standard features, the 2012 Diavel Cromo boasts of tank panels plated in chromium that are in direct contrast to the silky black trellis casing. The base trim of the headlight cover is also based in chrome, with a silver pin-stripe running down the frontage fender. The word “Cromo” has been engraved lazer-style in the air-duct panels on both sides of the fuel tank. The seat sports a new horizontal stitching and possesses a new custom 14-spoke machined wheels that go along with the classic Ducati logos.
The Testastretta 11 power plant was retained as that of its predecessor. However, the 1198cc mill valve system was improved to allow for better intake and exhaust ports and the cam timing were readjusted to maximize bottom end torque. This enabled the decrease on the overlap angle, which is the period when both the intake and exhaust valves are open. It also has an 8000 rpm after the third gear.
Thanks to the Ride-by-Wire system, the cable-actuated throttle is instantly felts and ensures a seamless relationship between the rider’s wrist and the throttle bodies. To guarantee reduced rear end wiggle when down-shifting forcefully, the oil bath clutch is fitted with a slipper function. Simultaneously, this makes it possible to feel light at the lever.
With all these innovations to the original super bike, there is no doubt that the Ducati Diavel Cromo has is a beast of a motorcycle. So who could possibly resist the temptation that this beautiful monster arouses? Certainly not the ones who have already seen it first hand or those who have watched its launch and could not fight the seduction of signing in for trial rides.
